Christians and politics

This is why Christians, especially prominent ones, need to put a certain amount of distance between themselves and political dealings. I think we have a responsibility to exercise our civic duty to vote and discuss our opinions on any of the issues at hand. I think Christians serving in political office (note the choice of the word serve as in being a servant to the people) can be a good thing. But this kind of involvement has too much of an appearance of impropriety. It is make Christians appear to be just another interest group trying to push our agenda. The cause of Christ is far too important to sully for mere political gain.
