New York City subway threat
So there's some serious, credible, but unknown (to the public) threat to the NYC subway system according to Fox News. Sis 2 (who is still at the office in Manhattan) and I are currently discussing potential defense strategies. News conference is scheduled for 5:30 PM EDT.
A sample of the conversation:
Blood thirsty? Heck yeah! Didn't anybody tell you that we're at war?
New York subway under threat, says transit agency
New York increases subway security
Police Investigate New York Subway Terror Threat
Update:This is a paraphrase
Ray Kelley (or Kelly? which is it?): May be an attack in the coming days. People keep your eyes open. Will be checking suitcase, strollers, and the like. Working on confirming credibility of the threat. Checking all trains in the system. Still at level orange.
FBI dude Mark Merchand (sp?): Details classified (that's real helpful). Shared info with police. Threat partially disrupted.
Sis 2 comments: So basically nothing's different.
On to the question and answer period.
5:55 PM EDT They're not saying much of anything.
Sis 2 is on the express bus to Brooklyn. She'll probably be taking the subway to work in the morning.
Now on to the rampant speculation by the talking heads!
Random observation: All of those people going in and out of the subway entrances look like ants scurrying around the ant hill. Each knowing exactly where they're going with their own tasks to accomplish for the good of the hive.

Police Investigate New York Subway Terror Threat
According to sources in intelligence, emergency services and police headquarters, when three Iraqi insurgents were arrested several days ago during a raid by a joint FBI-CIA team, one of those caught disclosed the threat. Because it slipped out during the arrest, the plot was deemed credible.
After several days of work, sources said, the NYPD is increasingly concerned because it has been unable to discredit the initial source and additional information from the source.
The 19 operatives were to place improvised explosive devices in the subways using briefcases, according to two sources.
The police are deploying additional officers, dogs and heavy weapons teams in subways and commuter rail terminals, sources said.
Department of Homeland Security sources told ABC News they are very doubtful the threat information is credible, though NYPD sources said the information continues to come in and is disturbing.
