The contrast between Martin Luther King Jr.'s funeral and that of his widow Coretta Scott King is striking. Her's looks to be an extravagant spectacle where anyone who is anyone will put in an appearance. While I wasn't around for his funeral most Americans have seen footage of his coffin being carried through the streets in a simple mule drawn wagon. He had been violently taken from his family in his prime while fighting for freedom. She died in her bed surrounded by family knowing that her husband's dreams had, for the most part, been realised.
