Tom Golisano announced today that he won't be campaigning to be the Republican candidate for governor of New York state. This leaves former Massachusetts Gov. William F. Weld and John J. Faso, a former State Assembly leader free to battle it out for the Republican nomination. Democrats seem to think that Golisano's departure from the field is bad for the Republicans. I was never a fan of Golisano so I don't see that as the case.
